| Can I edit the CSS to change layout, look and feel, and terminology on
the pages? What about hiding certain tabs and functionality? |

Hi, With DotNetNuke you can select from hundreds of different skins or have a custom skin created. Each skin allows significant control over the appearance and layout. The Accord uses standard DNN Normal, Head and SubHead classes for all of its text - so the Accord text will automatically update according to any skin you are currently using. All of the tab colors are CSS defined, so you can change their colors as well. All Accord LMS colors and fonts are defined in CSS - nothing is hard coded.
In addition, the Accord now supports Templates with Tokens for the Learning Event Catalogs - you have complete control over how these present. Please read the Learning Event Catalog Templates blog article for more information and examples. ALL of the DNN and Accord LMS text strings come from .resx files. This allows you to make local updates to any of these text strings. You can add module from the Accord LMS module set to any page in your site, and in any pane. Multiple copies of each module can be added - allowing you to place eLearning where you want it. Learner > Configuration options allow you to: - select which Learner Tabs to present to the Learner - select which items are available in the Context Sensitive Menu - auto collapse or expand of the TreeGrid when first opening - include the description under each Learning Event title, etc. etc. Thanks, Chris |

Hi Chris,
So does this mean that I could, say, add the "Catalog" tab/module only, as a module in an page on my site? Ignoring (most of) the rest of the functionality of the LMS?
I guess what I'm interested there is, how well does Accord LMS play with other custom modules? Or does it sort of "take over" a DotNetNuke installation?
Also, do the roles and learners in Accord LMS honour the roles and users in the DotNetNuke core?
Cheers,
Ivan. |

Hi Ivan,
If you are speaking about the Learner module - yes, you could configure each learner module to show any of the 5 possible tabs: Summary; My Plan, Archive; Classes and Catalog. You can also select whether or not the tabs are presented or hidden. Hiding the tabs would allow you to create custom navigation controls. It is also useful if you only plan to present a single tab such as My Plan or Catalog and there is no need for the tab UI.
If you are speaking about the Manager module, the different tabs are presented according to the Manager Profile of the current user. Any number of Manager Profiles can be created that give you full control over exactly what LMS features the Profile has access to. You can hide/show any of the Manager tabs and hide/show any of the features on those tabs. In addition, you have very granular control over Manager Profile access to the Learning Event Catalog folder and Learner Roles. Please refer to the "Accord LMS - Advanced Setup - Manager Profiles" guide available from our download page: http://www.interzoic.com/products/accord-lms/resources
The Accord LMS was designed from the ground up to be a well mannered team player. It installs just like any other module and does not require any special considerations. Uninstalls work as expected and there is nothing to clean up. Upgrading is like any other module and all of your users, roles, Learning Event (LE) enrollment, attempt records, reports, etc. are carried forward. You can use other modules, like Active Social, as Learning Events and it uses the standard DNN Security Roles to assign LE Content to groups of Learners. You can also assign LE Content to discrete users if you want. The Accord does offer some nice security role extensions, such as the ability to specify start date, due date, renewal date and start/due date notifications to roles before you assign them to users.
Please review the Accord LMS product page for more information, access to user guides, free fully functional trail download, demo portal, etc.
Thanks, Chris
